Sell Investment Gold Bars
Bars of various weights and manufacturers — check an indicative price online, get the exact valuation at our branch.
What are investment gold bars
An investment bar differs from jewelry or a collector coin in that its value comes almost entirely from its metal content — no premium for design, craftsmanship, or minting rarity. The standard purity for investment bars is 999.9 (the "four nines") or 999 — lower-purity bars are rarer, usually older or sourced outside the European market.
A bar's credibility is confirmed by its origin from an accredited mint — the most recognized standard is LBMA (London Bullion Market Association) accreditation under the Good Delivery list, guaranteeing rigorous quality, refining, and responsible-sourcing standards. A bar outside this list isn't necessarily fake, but its market liquidity tends to be lower.

What we buy
We buy investment gold bars of various weights — from 1 g to 1 kg — from recognized manufacturers, including: PAMP, Valcambi, Argor-Heraeus, Mennica Polska, Mennica Skarbowa, Münze Österreich, Perth Mint, Royal Mint. Bars with an original assay certificate and sealed packaging are valued with priority — we also accept unsealed bars after additional verification.
What we don't buy
We don't provide an online valuation for bars suspected of being counterfeit or that cannot be verified in branch — please call us before visiting in such cases.
Which bar manufacturers we buy
We prioritize bars from manufacturers with an established reputation and LBMA accreditation — this lets us offer the best price, since such bars are easy to verify and resell on the wholesale market. Manufacturers we most commonly buy from:
- PAMP (Suisse) — a Swiss mint, one of the most recognizable bar producers, known for its Lady Fortuna series.
- Valcambi — another LBMA-accredited Swiss mint, valued for precision and a wide range of weights, from 1 g to kilogram bars.
- Argor-Heraeus — a Swiss manufacturer operating since the 19th century, supplier to many global brokerages and banks.
- Mennica Polska / Mennica Skarbowa — Polish manufacturers with strong trust in the domestic market.
- Münze Österreich — the Austrian state mint.
- Perth Mint — an Australian mint, bars with a distinctive kangaroo design.
- Royal Mint — the British royal mint, one of the world's oldest precious-metals manufacturers.
We also buy bars from manufacturers not listed above — in that case we verify authenticity individually each time, which may slightly extend the valuation time.
Investment gold and VAT — what's worth knowing
Under the EU VAT Directive (2006/112/EC, Articles 344–356) and Polish VAT law, investment gold — bars of purity 995 or higher and certain coins meeting statutory criteria — falls under a special VAT exemption scheme. This is one reason bars are a popular way to hold savings in physical gold. The exact tax consequences of a specific transaction depend on individual circumstances — this is general market information, not tax advice; if in doubt, consult a tax advisor.
Bar or investment coin?
We value both products on similar terms — weight × purity × current rate — but the practical differences can matter. Bars usually carry a lower premium over metal value than bullion coins, but a bar doesn't "gain" extra collector value over time. Bullion coins, especially limited mintage years, sometimes gain a premium due to collector interest. If you have both bars and coins, it's worth valuing each category separately (see also: gold coin buying) — the price difference is sometimes noticeable.
How we verify bar authenticity
- 1.Certificate and packaging — an original assay certificate in sealed packaging speeds up verification.
- 2.Serial number — most modern bars carry a serial number matched against the certificate.
- 3.Dimensions and weight — compared against manufacturer specification.
- 4.Verification without packaging — additional jewelry-industry verification methods for bars without a certificate.

Frequently asked questions about selling bars
Do you buy bars without a certificate?+
Yes, we also accept bars without the original certificate or packaging — in that case we carry out additional purity and weight verification in branch, which may slightly extend the transaction time.
Do you accept bars bought from another dealer?+
Yes, where the bar was purchased doesn't matter — what matters is its authenticity, purity and weight.
Is there a minimum bar weight?+
We don't set a minimum weight — we buy bars starting from 1 gram.
How is the bar buying price determined?+
The price depends on the bar's purity and weight, and the current gold rate published by the National Bank of Poland — exactly as in the calculator above.
Are investment gold bars VAT-exempt?+
Bars of purity 995 or higher generally fall under the EU definition of investment gold covered by the VAT exemption — see the section above. General information, not tax advice.
What's the difference between buying a bar versus an investment coin?+
The valuation mechanism is similar, but coins are sometimes additionally valued with a collector premium — see the section above.
Do I need the bar's original packaging?+
It's not required, but it speeds up verification — we also buy unpackaged bars.
Do I need to book an appointment to sell a bar?+
For a single bar, not necessary. For larger quantities, we recommend calling ahead.
