Buying forints

We accept Hungarian forint banknotes of all denominations and series — the condition of each note is assessed by the cashier on site. New and well-preserved banknotes are valued at the full rate; for heavily worn, stained or damaged notes, the valuation may be adjusted individually after inspection. Show your notes at the counter — we'll check them quickly in front of you.

Selling forints

Forints in the main denominations are usually available on the spot at both branches. If you need specific denominations or a larger amount, call ahead — we'll set the cash aside and lock in a rate for you.

How a Hungarian forint exchange works

  1. Check the current HUF/PLN rate — on our site or by phone.
  2. If the rate suits you, submit your order online and lock it in for 60 minutes.
  3. Come to our branch in Warsaw (Al. Jerozolimskie 47) or Kraków (Starowiślna 42).
  4. Tell us what you need — buying or selling forints, and how much.
  5. Our cashier checks the banknotes and counts the amount in front of you.
  6. You receive your cash and a transaction receipt.

The exchange usually takes just a few minutes. For transactions from the equivalent of EUR 15,000, we apply AML verification — a national ID card or passport is enough.

Is it better to exchange forints in Poland or in Hungary?+

It's worth having forints on arrival — for airport transport, tickets and tips. Rates at Budapest airport and hotels are often poor. With us you know the rate upfront and can lock it for 60 minutes.

Can I sell forints after returning from Hungary?+

Yes, we buy HUF banknotes. Coins are not accepted at the table rate — the cashier decides on site. Cash only.

What Hungarian forint banknotes do you accept?+

We accept Hungarian forint banknotes in any condition — the cashier assesses each note on site and may adjust the valuation individually for heavily worn or damaged notes.

Do I need ID to exchange forints?+

Up to the equivalent of EUR 15,000 — no. Above that threshold, under AML regulations, we'll ask for a national ID card or passport.

Do you charge commission for exchanging forints?+

No — the rate you see is the final rate, with no additional fees.

Walk-in exchange office or online exchange — which is better for forints?+
